The Brick Miser: Advent Calendar 2016: Mega Bloks Despicable Me: Day 16

Day 16: Snowman

And we're right back to the festive whimsy of Christmas with this little snowman. ...Snowminion? Whatever.

I really like how they pulled this design off. Instead of using two square white bricks for the layers and either using a 1x4 brown brick for the arms or a 1x2 brown bricks placed in the front and back to simulate arms, they basically built it sideways, using two cylinder bricks to simulate the snowballs and positioning it so the little arms can pivot left and right, with white studs to fill in the gaps. That was a very creative way to keep the arms on either side and build them with bricks that can move.

The arms are again built with these little "pipe set" pieces, which does heighten the illusion of this having stick arms, so kudos.

I also really like the face, because how can you dislike a little face printed onto a snowman? It's cute that they decided to give it Minion facial features as well, instead of the standard snowman faces with the coal eyes and smile and carrot nose.

The hat, although creative and actually resembling a hat, doesn't quite look like a snowman hat. In fact, with the short, rounded top and the wide brim, he does actually look like Parson Brown! ...I wonder if that was intentional?

Overall, I LOVE this set. It's cute, it's creative, it's unique, it's everything I look for in a micro set. This is absolutely one of the best models we've gotten so far, if not THE best! ...Let's hope that didn't just jinx the next one...
