The Brick Miser: Advent Calendar 2017: Mega Bloks Monster High: Day 12

Day 12: More Skis

Today on Advent Calendar Antics, we're featuring skis and ski poles!

And it only took them T̶H̶R̶E̶E̶ TWELVE days to get to the skis, instead of the six the Minions calendar held out for. ...Guess they decided theirs weren't worth as much of a wait?

Since this is another accessory pack, let's get D̶r̶a̶c̶u̶l̶a̶u̶r̶a̶ Clawdeen out again. ...And with the accessory pack from y̶e̶s̶t̶e̶r̶d̶a̶y̶ the other day, she looks completely decked out and ready for her skiing trip! ...And we're only t̶h̶r̶e̶e̶ twelve days into the calendar! ...Everything needed to play with the figure in such a short time? What madness is this?!

The skis are unfortunately not as nice or decked out as the Minions variant. They're just the standard ski mold also used in the Minions calendar colored p̶i̶n̶k̶ purple, but without any of the bricks to simulate ski boots. ...Which is odd for a line based around glamor and accessories...

Still, at least the Monster High figure can actually use the skis, in direct contrast to the penguin from last time...

I do like the Monster High logo on one of the skis, though. It's a subtle, yet cute, addition to otherwise plain bricks.

The poles are simply thin, plastic poles with single stud p̶i̶n̶k̶ purple pieces attached to the bottom of each. ...VERY flimsy poles, at that. I feel like I could snap these just by holding them wrong! If a kid was given these, they would be broken in seconds... They don't even feel like brick pieces. If I was to see these by themselves, out of context, I'd think they were sprue fragments formerly attacked to other pieces in the set. ...Or maybe they are, and Mega Bloks decided to save a few more pennies by including them as bricks in the set instead of molding regular brick poles? I can never tell with Mega Bloks and what corners they've cut to bring us affordable super detailed figures...

And that's what today brings us. Not as much to comment on, but I don't think much needs to be said. It's the final piece of the winter wear set, so now your kids can have fun playing around with a fully decked-out D̶r̶a̶c̶u̶l̶a̶u̶r̶a̶ Clawdeen as they await the opening of the next door. And for an advent calendar with seemingly random results, that's actually pretty admirable. Let's hope this keeps up for the next door!

And for anyone who may have noticed and is upset that I straight-up copy/pasted the review from Day 3 for this... It's the exact same thing. There's nothing else TO say! Better than nothing...
